The Simcoe Farmers Market is more than just a place to shop — it’s a community gathering spot where good things and good friends meet. Every week, locals come together to catch up with neighbours, enjoy friendly conversations, and shop for fresh, local products in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Since opening in the winter of 1980, our market has been home to passionate vendors and loyal customers. What started with a few dedicated sellers has grown into a thriving year-round market with more than 30 vendors, with up to 20 local farmers bringing in fresh, seasonal produce.
In October 2025, the Simcoe Farmers Market made an exciting move from the lower level of the Norfolk County Agricultural Society’s Homecraft building to the main level of the Grandstands Building—still located right on the Norfolk County Fairgrounds. Though it was only a short move across the grounds, it made a big difference! The new space offers bright natural light, open high ceilings, onsite washrooms, and an easy-to-navigate layout—making the market more enjoyable for both shoppers and vendors.
At the Simcoe Farmers Market, you can chat directly with the people who grow, bake, and make the products you love. Their passion, pride, and knowledge shine through in everything they sell—from farm-fresh produce and homemade treats to handcrafted goods and unique local products.
Come experience the friendly atmosphere, discover local treasures, and see why the Simcoe Farmers Market has been a Norfolk County favourite for more than 40 years!

Nobody is on Nobody’s side in this classic 1986 rock musical by Abba’s Bjorn Uvaleus and Benny Anderson with a book by Tim Rice. Loosely based off real “Match of the Century” during the Cold-War, Chess follows Freddie, the eccentric egotistical American Grandmaster, defending his title against Anatoly, the conflicted Soviet grandmaster. Behind the scenes, Soviet representative Molokov and American television producer Walter are pulling strings to decide the fate of the game. Between it all is Florence, a Hungarian refugee who is also Freddie’s lover. However, after Freddie crosses the line, she begins to develop feelings for Anatoly. How does this affect the game? Who wins? Featuring classic songs such as “One Night in Bangkok” and “Heaven Help my Heart”.

Beekeeping 101 with Daniel
Is Beekeeping Right for You?
Beekeeping is a rewarding homestead skill — but knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming. If you’ve ever dreamed of harvesting your own raw honey, reducing your reliance on store-bought sugar, or watching bees thrive on your land, this class is the perfect place to start.
Online resources can be confusing, especially since most are American and don’t always apply to our climate or homesteading style here in Southern Ontario. Before you invest time and money into bees, this in-person class will give you the clarity you need.
In this 2-hour session, Daniel will cover:
The biology of the honey bee
How much time beekeeping really takes, broken down by season
Realistic start-up costs and annual maintenance
Common risks beginners overlook (mites, AFB, and more)
Ontario beekeeping laws & regulations
Equipment selection — what you actually need vs. what’s optional
A true seasonal roadmap: what to expect in Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter here in zone 6a/6b
By the end of this class, you’ll know whether beekeeping is your next homestead passion… or an expensive hobby you’re glad you didn’t jump into blindly.
Daniel will guide you through a comprehensive slideshow and demonstrate inspection techniques using an empty hive. Bring a notebook — there’s lots to learn. A digital copy of the slides will be provided to all participants after the class.
The class fee is $40.00+tax per person ($45.20). Kindly ensure the full payment is made within 24 hours to help streamline the process on our end. When submitting your payment, please include your name and the class you're paying for in the comments section.
If you’re unable to attend the class, please refer to our FAQs for refund details.
Payments can be completed in-store during business hours or via e-transfer to generationsmarketplacepayment@gmail.com.
