The Backyard Farming Course is designed for beginner and intermediate farmers, who wish to plan and implement their own vegetable garden, to achieve a successful growing season and reap all of your rewards…fresh vegetables! Amy Webster from Vintage Adulting will be here, at Sloth and Molasses, on March 12 to teach you everything you need to know from start to finish.
What You Will Learn:
Planning – Choosing the best location and the right size for your garden. Understanding what companion planting is and choose your vegetables accordingly. Mapping out your garden for easy and effective planting.
Planting – Assessing which vegetables need to be started from seed and what are to be direct sown. How to start growing your vegetables in your very own mini greenhouse. We will be sending you home with some seeds for direct sowing in Spring.
Production – Discover how to maintain your vegetable garden, using organic growing methods, harvest season basics, and different methods of preserving vegetables.
Post Season – Once the harvest is complete, getting your garden bed ready for winter.
All attendees will leave with a workbook, a mini Greenhouse, and a variety of seeds.
Price for workshop is $70 per person.
Payment must be made in full upon booking. Deposits can be made in person at Sloths and Molasses or by e-transfer directly to amy@vintageadulting.com.
