This is a FREE concert at Silver Lake Park starring Juno Award Winner Tom Wilson, the one-and-only Washboard Hank, and local favourites Matty Simpson, Jay Pollmann, and The Dover Fishnettes.

Our friend Holly Plastow Balcomb is also coordinating a small vendor market of local artists, artisans, and makers. If you would like to participate in the market, please contact Holly for details. There is no charge for vendor space. We just want people to enjoy the opportunity to reconnect and hopefully make a few bucks.

This concert is the first in a series of three I'm working on with the Board of Trade and as many local partners as possible. It is funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation's Resilient Communities Fund, which was created to help communities recover from you know what.

The broad strokes goals here are to encourage tourists to come to town for the weekend, boost Port Dover entrepreneurs and businesses, create fundraising opportunities for community groups, and - most importantly - do something fun, free, and hopefully memorable for the locals who stuck together and supported our businesses, sports teams, charities, and each other over the past couple years.

There will be a bar. No tent, but there will be picnic tables and room to set up your own blankets and chairs. The Lions are tending bar. Proceeds will be split between the Lions and Board of Trade to help fund ongoing community projects.

Live music starts at 4:30 with a kids show by Washboard Hank. He's playing again later too. The market starts whenever Holly says so. I'll post updates, including a list of vendors, as we sort out the final details.
